A self initiated illustration project, “What I Wore: March 2012”, chronicles my daily outfits for the month of April.
Reaching back to my fashion blogging roots, I decided to challenge my dedication to illustration and fashion by creating quick 5 minute sketches of what I wore everyday for the course of a year. Each month I experimented using different media and styles. What started off as a fun routine has now become my own illustrated self-history of who I used to be, who I am now, and who I’ve yet to become.
My first month of illustrations were created with markers. I had brought my markers with me everyday to work and quickly drew my outfit of the day before getting caught by my boss. Felted markers were an obvious choice to do this fast doodles – they dried fast, could create shady, and weren’t messy.
